“Epitome of southern hospitality and GREAT customer service! I Was driving from Atlanta to Maryland when my car broke down in NC. I had absolutely no idea what to do or where to go but somebody recommended me this place since there was something wrong with my transmission. Although both of the nicks were fully booked and could not work on our car, they took time out of their busy schedules to try to get us home and let us know what was going on with our car to see if it was drivable to the dealership . When I asked how much for their services, he declined and said he was happy he could help us. Not only were they helpful, they also kind and lifted a lot of tension off our shoulders.”

“Nick and his crew were very professional. When I dropped off our car to have the transmission replaced, he took the time to explain what he needed to do and outlined the timeframe that he would be working on the car. The work was completed on time and did not exceed the quote we were given. When we picked it up, Nick again took the time to explain the work that was completed and also explained how the additional parts and upgrades would affect driving. Also made sure that we fully understood the warranty and any follow up visits that were required to maintain the warranty. The car that we dropped off was my 16 year old son's first car. Because of this, he was anxious for the work to get done, and I was concerned about it being done properly. Bench Built Transmissions did not disappoint. The car runs great and my son is incredibly pleased to have his first cat. I would definitely recommend Bench Built Transmissions for anyone that needs some transmission work done.”

Got my truck back after the work was completed and Holy SHIT Batman! I did not realize how much I had been compensating my driving for how the transmission was acting. I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado with 220,000 miles. The last 20,000 it's been hard shifting in the lower gears with a hard 'clunk' if I was trying to accelerate with any force and then it stopped shifting to the highest gear on the highway. Nick rebuilt the transmission from the smallest part out. They found that someone had 'upgraded' the transmission to a 2006 version at some point (I'm the 3rd owner) so he rebuilt it to the more dependable 2002 style and then added in some high performance parts for better performance and dependability. The work comes with a 2 year warranty and they scheduled a check up at 1 year before I left. I grew up in a farming community where a hand shake and your word meant much more than your credit score. This shop is a small, two person shop. A Dad and Son doing really good quality work and not overcharging for it. I left here feeling like I truly found a shop I can trust. Thank you Nick Sr and Nick Jr., your work ethic and business practices are a refreshing find in today's world.

“Father and son Nick and Nick were extremely helpful getting my vehicle back on the road. Their knowledge about my car and advice on proper upgrades was something I did not get when speaking with other shops in the area. You get what you pay for with transmission work and you're paying to get your vehicle fixed properly.
